“Annihilated” the roguelite deckbuilder RPG from Death Kumiai dealyed until Q4 2026

Those looking forward to Death Kumiai latest game, which is the roguelite deckbuilder RPG experience Annihilated, will be disappointed to learn that it has been delayed until Q4 2026.

Annihilated, which is being published by Flashlight Games, was previously announced to launch on Steam (for Windows PC) on the 22nd July 2026, but the developers have opted to push back the release of the game so that additional development can be done in order to offer the best possible quality.

Message from Publisher: Development is in its final stages, and the team has been polishing the game towards the July 22 release. However, we have made the decision to take additional time for final adjustments — refining the overall game feel and fine-tuning the battle balance for a smoother experience — so that we can deliver the game at the level of quality it deserves.

We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to the game, as well as to the media outlets and content creators who have covered it to date.During this final phase, we plan to release an updated demo and once again invite feedback from players.

In return for the wait, the entire team is committed to making Annihilated a game that lives up to your expectations at launch.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Message from Developers: We know some of you have been saying, “It’s out this month — can’t wait!” — which makes this announcement all the more painful to write.

Here’s the honest truth: the game has already passed Steam’s review process, and we absolutely could finish bug-checking and ship the game by July 22.

But that launch would have looked something like:

“*gasp* *wheeze* BUGS FIXED!!! OKAY, SHIP IT NOW!!!!”

…and that’s not the launch this game deserves.

What we couldn’t fit in was the time after completion for the whole team to play the game over and over and fine-tune all the little details of the balance. That’s the time we’re asking for.

The delay window may look wide, but that’s only because we’d rather promise carefully and deliver early — we’re doing everything we can to get it to you as soon as possible. Please don’t worry on that front.

We’d be truly grateful if you could give us just a little more time.

Thank you for your patience and continued support — we are looking forward to share what we’ve been working on!

Annihilated is described as a twisted world where adorable fuses with dark horror art that presents a narrative-driven dungeon crawler RPG with 4 distinct character routes. As part of the experience you’ll need to find your favorite “broken” party member to save…and leave the others behind.

Backstory: The legendary Hero’s party vanished in the depths of a dungeon. You are the sole survivor of the rescue party sent in after them, pressing ever deeper into the cursed dungeon to find what remains of them. You have no fighting power of your own; to survive, you borrow the remaining strength of the broken heroes — each helping in their own way. And you can only bring one of them out alive.

Explore the Dungeons: The dungeon itself is the enemy. Its monsters, traps, and curse turn on everyone who enters — the same forces that broke the Hero’s party now come for you. What really happened to them, and why, is what each route reveals. You will find lurking monsters, dwindling gear, instant-death traps the moment you drop your guard — and the very curse that shattered the heroes still lingers in its halls.

Key Features:

4 Routes: Choose among 4 different main routes, each one of them full of decisions that will impact your path and how things end.

Visual novel narrative-driven style with a deep 200.000 words script full of lovable and broken characters.

Roguelite dungeon crawling with high lethality, uniforgiving random events, and instant retries.

Turn-based timing-focused card battles where players will need to be strategic but also have good reflexes to defeat enemies.

Weapon Breakage System: Weapons have a durability limit but can be voluntarily destroyed for temporary combat buffs.
Curse points are earned from defeats and weapon breaks, and used to buy items, boost stats, or survive lethal roulettes.

Annihilated will launch digitally on Steam (for Windows PC) later this year with further details to be confirmed.
