The Jaadugar of the Tent #03 — Procrastinating Revenge

I’m sure she’ll get around to it eventually.

Impressions:

Same core issue that I talked about in the prevous episode, and it’s starting to bore more. Fatima né Sitara is too much of a complete nonentity despite the story being completely centered on her. She wants revenge… sort of, but not really, and to accomplish that goal, she’s going to… go along with whatever anybody tells her to do. At all times. Without exerting a tiny bit of agency or adding a single thought. While outwardly pretending she just likes nice food. Instead, we’re going to get musings on immortality. Immortality without eternal youth. Wouldn’t that be terrible? I mean, yes, obviously. Why are we even talking about this?

Could we have the tiniest bit of revenge? As a treat? A petty strike against some meaningless officer? The barest whiff of a plot? A scheme to at least give some dude the runs? She doesn’t need to instantly go on a murder rampage, but she needs to perform some action to show that her role in the story couldn’t be replaced by a goat. Even this other queen lady they introduce who likes to secretly announce that she’s the enemy of her husband/master just says that and… that’s it. That’s the whole ‘revenge’ plot that is apparently meant to be driving things. Something announced, yet nobody is taking any steps to make happen, and will get to it in… well, going by the geographical and chronological time skips, months, if not years.
