Magical girls should not be corporate.
Impressions:
I think I would’ve preferred the dynamic where Kuze talks down to these idiot children. “But I have heavy artillery!” You understand that’s not a good argument for anybody involved in this child soldier program is being a responsible adult, right? Unfortunately, she’s immediately won over and indoctrinated into their boring group. How are you making the StrikerS team seem dynamic and exciting? Is it the utterly generic designs that are too boring to even be death bait? Or maybe it’s the exposition on exposition without actually saying anything that moves the story forward.
Then, having done nothing more than recruit her, we switch gears entirely and spend the last third of the episode introducing the antagonist magical girls group by way of them gratuitously liquifying a few dozen people. Technically targeting a bunch more of the monster-drug folk, so I guess they’re more of a rival child soldier faction than evil antagonists, but they sure didn’t seem to have any issues with collateral damage. Would’ve been more interesting if any of the fights was more than them restraining people who suddenly went slobbering insane monster so they could explode them, but I guess we’re already running low on budget.
