The anime come shoot-emup 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X Hi-Res, otherwise known as Geppy-X, has now arrived digitally on to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam. To celebrate a launch trailer has been released which not only introduces a new version of Geppy-X but also a new companion.
As a reminder 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X Hi-Res is a high definition remaster of the original Geppy-X game which comes arcade shoot-em-up gameplay with anime cutscenes to deliver a unique experience. Each stage of the game feels like its own anime episode. For this High Definition remaster the original Betacam master tapes have been re-digitized and animation has been fully restored to its original 24 frames per second, of which can be seen in previous trailers and the demo that is available to download from the respective digital storefronts.
Geppy-X features a campaign mode as well as boss rush mode and alternate episodic content, additionally the original 1999 voice performances from some of Japan’s most respected and influential anime actors, including Akira Kamiya, Shō Hayami, Shūichi Ikeda, Ichirō Nagai, and Gorō Naya. Quality of life improvements include Rewind, Rapid Fire, Quick Save as well as CRT Filter functions.
