Bandai Namco Entertainment have today released the Super Limit Breaking NEO DLC for DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Zero on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC worldwide and is priced at £28.99. Release details for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 DLC will be confirmed at a later date.
This premium digital expansion adds 30 Playable Characters, Over 20 Customization Options, 4 New Stages, a New Game Mode and New Gameplay Mechanics. A selection of characters included in this paid for expansion include:
From DRAGON BALL, characters such as Mercenary Tao, Grandpa Gohan, General Blue, Ma Junior, Chi-Chi, Demon King Picolo or Goku (World Tournament) are available
From DRAGON BALL Z, players can now play with Mighty Mask, Supreme Kai, or Uub (Kid), Zangya, Bardock (Super Saiyan), Chilled among others
From DRAGON BALL GT, Super 17, Vegeta (GT), Trunks (GT), Nuova Shenron (GT) and Hell Fighter 17 get added to the roster
From DRAGON BALL SUPER, Champa, Jaco, Cheelai and others join the roster
The new solo mode is called Limit Breaker Journey, and it allows players to choose their favourite character, develop their abilities and customize them through a variety of battles. Players will navigate the map, select opponents based on their strength and use Battle Arts to gain advantages. Additionally character stats can then be increased, allowing players to shape their fighter to suit their preferred playstyle.
In addition to the DLC a new update has been released which adds Sparking! Boost and Chain Blast mechanics for even more variety in combat.
Sparking Boost: allows players in Sparking mode to consume a large amount of Skill Stock in exchange for a considerable attack boost. However, once the effect ends, their character’s stats will be temporarily reduced.
Chain Blast: introduces a new combo mechanic. After launching an opponent, players can switch to a reserve ally and continue the assault with a Blast attack, leading to devastating follow-up damage and deeper team-based strategies.
As a reminder DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Zero, the latest installment into the Sparking (or Budokai Tenkaichi) franchise, was originally released onto the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC in October in 2024 and continues to receive regular updates, with the most recent DLC being characters from Dragon Ball Daima.
