Impressions:
Why the hell are we having a long flashback recap to explain her plan? Her plan that was already shown and explained last week. To trick a bird. Birds being famously extremely intelligent animals, not fooled by things like putting a hat on a stick. This is how they decided to spend the first FOUR DAMN MINUTES of the episode. Another couple minutes of redeclaring the premise of the test and now we’re a third of the episode done, having gone nowhere and done absolutely nothing. Great work.
So instead we cut over to the B team to fight those clothing dissolving worms for some reason. I’m not even sure you could say it’s for fanservice, as the poison girl just got a shoulder and hip exposed, and they didn’t seem interested in drawing any kind of definition for the half naked dude’s body, so no manservice either. Maybe if you’re turned on by flat white boards. So then what? It’s time for… more flashbacks! To the same Aria/Spica ones as ever. And despite this flashback only being a minute long, needed a quick recap to catch us back up. The padding this episode could choke a blue whale.
