Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories Release Date set for 25th February 2027

KOEI TECMO Games have officially confirmed that Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories will launch on the 25th February 2027 onto the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam (for Windows PC). A new trailer, and additional details about the game, have also been revealed.

As previously announced Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories will focus on the new protagonist Karia, and will see players return to the land of Aladiss which made its debut in Atelier Yumia. The game will offer a mixture of RPG combat, exploration and item creation with items helping Karia explore the world and uncover its secrets.

Story: In Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memoriesplayers will return to the continent of Aladiss, first introduced in Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land. In this familiar land, players will set out on a journey centred on discovery and growth alongside amnesiac alchemist Karia. Working together with Servio Lektor, a heretic biologist from the pioneering team, and Fina Rozen, a talented fighter, Karia sets on a journey to explore Aladiss’ mysterious underworld to uncover its secret. Along the way, she gains the support of alchemist Yumia Liessfeldt and develops her talent for alchemy while seeking to recover her lost memories, reawaken the past, and savour the present.

Power of Allies: Servio Lektor, Fina Rozen, and fellow alchemist Yumia Liessfeldt join Karia on her quest. Players will also encounter additional allies along the way including Noelk Schreiber, an aloof inspector from the Eustellan Bureau of Alchemical Relic Control, and Celes, a woman who appears calm and collected but has a peculiar side of her personality. Together, they endeavour to explore Aladiss’ mysterious underworld and uncover its secret.

New Styles for Battle: Over eight styles, including Ignis and Mermaid, will be accessible and can be unlocked throughout Karia’s journey by making progress with the main story, as well as eating meals. Ignis Style allows Karia to channel the element of fire, boosting her attack and imbuing skills with fire damage at the cost of lowering her defence and increasing her vulnerability to ice attacks. Comparatively, Mermaid Style allows Karia to use ice magic, increasing magic damage, but reducing Karia’s physical attack, making her weak to fire attacks. Once a style is unlocked, players will be able to employ them in battle by eating particular items, or during exploration, like breaking obstacles while dashing, and walking on water.

Items grant success: Karia can throw items to gather ingredients and destroy obstacles from a distance, as well as delivering damage to enemies. In addition, obstacles can be overcome by utilising certain items in specific spots to activate gimmicks which respond differently depending on the element used; players can employ the items Flamme, Lehrune, Plajig, and Luft (fire, ice, electric, and air elements respectively) to activate gimmicks and manoeuvre through obstacles in unique ways. Using elemental items on certain gathering spots will also modify the ingredients that are collected due to Elemental Alteration, giving players freedom to experiment and make new discoveries.

Colossal Fights Await: During these colossal encounters, players will organise and switch between their teams, taking the enemies on directly during the Frontline Team Phase, and supporting by using structures around the map during the Assault Team Phase. By completing the objectives assigned to the frontline and assault teams, players can deplete the enemy’s morale gauge and gain the upper hand in battle. Objectives will be divided into primary and secondary objectives, with secondary objectives granting players aid from surrounding support structures, such as shelters, sonic cannons, and item launchers, as well as reducing enemy morale. Ignoring secondary objectives will benefit the enemy, therefore players must strategise and prioritise objectives carefully in order to defeat colossal enemies.

Alchemy and Synthesis: Alchemy and synthesis will remain a key component in this title, and fans will enjoy a renovated synthesis system combining strategy and creativity when using the alchemy cauldron found in the depths of Aladiss. When synthesising, players will be able to connect the mana pieces of the ingredients in a recipe map while creating the patterns set by the recipe’s ingredients to unlock certain effects, which will change depending on the ingredients chosen and the way they are connected. Each ingredient can have several different piece shapes with effects, enabling players to work out which combination is the most effective. Likewise, there are multiple ways to connect ingredient pieces, which will alter the result of a recipe, or even change the item entirely if certain conditions are met.

Those who purchase Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories before the 10th March 2027 can also receive the early purchase bonus “Noctrem Pioneering Preparation Set”, which is comprised of a special costume for Karia as well as the exclusive “Training Badge equipment”*.
