The classic anime series GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka will be available to stream on Netflix UK from 1st April 2024, that is according to a new listing in the “new & popular” section on the streaming platform.
Based on Tohru Fujisawa’s manga series of the same name, and animated by Studio Pierrot, the anime series featured 43 episodes and follows 22 year-old ex-hoodlum Eikichi Onizuka as he strives to become the best teacher in Japan. At the time of writing it’s unclear how many episodes will be made available to stream, or what language options will be available, but Japanese audio with English subtitles is expected.
While GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka has received a DVD release in America, this might be the first time the series has been made accessible in the UK (and if not, it is the first time in a long time). Either way, fans interested in older anime will be able to experience GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka when it becomes available to stream on Netflix UK from 1st April 2024.
