The official SAND LAND social media channels have today revealed that the SAND LAND TV Anime series, which is one of the newer projects from the late Akira Toriyama, will receive a worldwide streaming release on Disney+ from 20th March 2024.
The SAND LAND TV Anime Series is being added to Disney+ as part of the STAR Originals line-up and on 20th March 2024 (at 7AM UK time) will see 7 Episodes added to the platform. The remaining 6 episodes will then be added each Wednesday from 7AM UK time until all 13 episodes of the series are available.
SAND LAND Synopsis: In the far future, war has destroyed the entire Earth, leaving only a barren wasteland where the supply of water is controlled by the greedy king. In search of a long-lost lake, Sheriff Rao asked the king of the demons for help…and got the king’s son, Beelzebub, and his assistant, Thief. Together the unlikely trio sets off across the desert, facing dragons, bandits and the deadliest foe of all… the King’s army itself!
SAND LAND was originally a manga written and drawn by Akira Toriyama, and in 2022 it was announced that Bandai Namco were working with the artist to create a new media franchise which included a Game, Film and TV Anime. The Film was recently in Japan last year, and this TV Series is an adaptation (and expansion) of that film while the game itself is due out globally later this year.
To celebrate the new announcement of SAND LAND global streaming debut the studios have also revealed a new trailer, in Japanese, and the ending song that will be used in the series. In the meantime SAND LAND is expected to available on Disney+ globally from 20th March 2024.
