Crunchyroll have today confirmed, through updated retail listings, that the release dates for all five seasons of Sailor Moon have been delayed. The first season is now scheduled to be released on the 26th October 2026, with future seasons being released on a monthly basis.
The newly confirmed release dates for each steelbook edition are as follows:
Sailor Moon: Season 1 – 26th October 2026
Sailor Moon R: Season 2 – 30th November 2026
Sailor Moon S: Season 3 – 28th December 2026
Sailor Moon SuperS: Season 4 – 25th January 2027
Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars – Season 5 – 22nd February 2027
As a reminder each Steelbook Edition will retail for £69.99 and include an exclusive holographic art card, with each card being unique to that season. The series will be released in its original (uncut) format in 4:3 aspect ratio, with episodes presented in both English (VIZ Media dub) and Japanese with English subtitles.
About Sailor Moon: Based on the manga of the same name by Naoko Takeuchi, Sailor Moon follows the adventures of middle school student Usagi Tsukino and her talking cat Luna. Luna grants Usagi the power to transform into a Pretty Soldier in order to defend the Earth from the forces of the Dark Kingdom alongside her fellow Sailor Soldiers.
The reason for the release date change has not been mentioned, so it is safe to assume it is some kind of delay in production (which isn’t uncommon lately as MVM and Anime Limited have also both had titles delayed), but at least we have alternative confirmed release dates rather than a cancellation.
