Bandai Namco Entertainment have today announced that SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream, which is the latest installment into the SWORD ART ONLINE game franchise, will launch on 4th October 2024 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. The publisher also confirmed three digital editions will be available and begun accepting pre-orders.
Unlike past SWORD ART ONLINE games, which used the original light novel and anime series as a base for their story, SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream will offer players an entirely different type of experience where characters and threats from the past mix with the present. Additionally, players will be able to play online with up to 20 players using characters from throughout the SAO franchise.
About: In this large-scale multiplayer focused adventure set in a virtual reality world called Alfheim Online, the Galaxia system spirals out of control, causing a breach in time and space, creating a new version that mixes worlds and timelines. Characters from various arcs of the Sword Art Online series are left to fend for themselves in this uncharted world, creating unexpected alliances even with enemies and reviving memories as they try to set the timeline back on track.
In addition to these new story details (along with a new trailer), Bandai Namco Entertainment also revealed the different digital editions that will be available for pre-order. In this case fans will be able to chose from Standard, Digital Deluxe and Premium Digital Deluxe with each offering different content. Additionally those who pre-order the any digital edition will receive the Demon King Costume Set while Digital Deluxe Editions
SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream is currently available to pre-order digitally on the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store for Xbox and Steam (for Windows PC), with the game set for release on 4th October 2024.
