For the past week the official Studio Ghibli UK social media channels have been teasing the release of a 4K UHD Blu-Ray Steelbook version of The Boy and The Heron. All formats are currently scheduled to be released on 23rd September 2024 within the UK.

At the time of writing it’s not known if the 4K UHD Blu-Ray versions of the film will also include the standard Blu-Ray disc, but as the listings only mention 1 disc we suspect that they will only include the 4K UHD Blu-Ray disc.

That aside, all of the editions listed above are currently available to pre-order at online retailers with the film itself scheduled to be released on 23rd September 2024.
