Anime Limited, otherwise known as All The Anime, have today taken to social media to reveal that they have delayed the upcoming UK Blu-Ray releases of Naruto, with the 1st Set (both Standard and Collector’s Edition) now scheduled for 11th November 2024.
The reason for the delay, as pointed out in the statement released on social media, is due to the subtitles not matching the quality that would be expected (or promised) for this kind of release. As such Anime Limited have stopped authoring procedures and will be fixing the subtitle concerns. It’s not been specified whether the subtitle issue is due to translation, or timing, but it’s an issue that must be addressed before being released.
Naturally it’s not the first time that Anime Limited have had to delay a Blu-Ray release, and it is great to see that the issue is being resolved before being produced, but (I believe) it is the first time that a multi-series release such as this has had to be delayed – thus resulting in further delays to future sets. Initially Naruto Sets 1 to 4 (Standard Edition) and Naruto Sets 1 and 2 (Collector’s Edition) were due to be released by the end of the year, with Naruto Set 1 scheduled for a September release. With the Naruto Blu-Rays being delayed it means we’ll barely see two releases before the year comes to an end.
In short; Naruto Blu-Ray’s have been delayed with Naruto Set 1 (Standard Edition) and Naruto Set 1 (Collector’s Edition that contains Set 1 & 2) now scheduled for release on 11th November 2024. Further details about how Anime Limited plan to release Naruto can be found here, but release dates for future sets have yet to be finalized.
