The next time someone describes a guild, I may have an aneurysm.
Impressions:
I would say that this is just like every other show with the exact same premise, but it’s really trying to hide its premise for some reason. This is despite the title of the show and the OP giving away the entire game and supposed twist. But it’s still only hinted at through the entire episode. Don’t these things want to get right to the gimmick? Why waffle around? And so poorly at that. He’s such a bad, horrible, no-good awful healing that every single person in the entire building is shocked and aghast that somebody would even talk to him. So the guild lady runs over to explain this, but also, everybody else is also terrible so also don’t work with anybody else hanging around either. Despite the fifteen or so minutes having characters explain the same reheated RPG world setting as you find in one in three anime these days, it’s already a nonsensical mess.
Its failure to actually do anything in its own title, despite the title being so long and descriptive, is the most interesting part of this exercise. He isn’t kicked out of the party in episode. He doesn’t show himself to be “the strongest.” He warns her off a trap and stabs a distracted orc. Neither things required much skill or prowess. Besides that, he either stood there during explanations, or delivered them himself. It’s definitely not selling itself on its animation or story. So… somebody will have to explain what the point of this episode was to me, because it escapes me.
