Sony Pictures UK, in partnership with Crunchyroll and Aniplex, have today revealed on social media that Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- will be screened in cinemas across the UK on 6th December 2024.
Solo Leveling -Reawakening- is a feature-length film that not only recaps the events of Season 1, of which is available to stream on Crunchyroll, but combines it with two brand new episodes from Season 2. The second season of the anime is expected to begin simulcast streaming in January 2025 on Crunchyroll, which means fans will get an early taste of Sung Jinwoo’s journey by watching this film.
As a reminder the Solo Leveling anime is animated by A-1 Pictures and is adapted from the Korean webtoon series of the same name.
Synopsis: They say whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but that’s not the case for the world’s weakest hunter Sung Jinwoo. After being brutally slaughtered by monsters in a high-ranking dungeon, Jinwoo came back with the System, a program only he could see, that’s leveling him up in every way. Now, he’s inspired to discover the secrets behind his powers and the dungeon that spawned them.
At the time of writing we are not aware of screening availability or screening format (sub or dub), but we expect that the film will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles. The first season of Solo Leveling was dubbed into English, so it is possible that an English dub version might also be screened, but we won’t know for sure until listings appear online or additional details are confirmed.
In the meantime at least Solo Leveling -Reawakening- will screen in participating UK cinemas from 6th December 2024 within the UK.
