Impressions:
What a weird and unpleasant episode of everybody being asses and then the most half-assed non-resolution to it. There’s no issue with creating a little bit of conflict or drama in order to resolve it and even if just within the episode, have some sit-com touching moment, but it’s got to be more than everybody just abruptly stops caring about everything and moves on. Especially with how much of an ass most were being. It’s especially galling because the two ninjas are exceptionally asses who do absolutely nothing redemptive whatsoever. They’re the ones that should be learning and growing the most and they… don’t. They’re just utter horse’s asses to their respective pairing. And don’t learn anything from each other, resolve to be better, anything. They’re just being terrible people. There’s no punchline at the end of it.
Unless next week’s episode picks up, I may call it here. The fun part of the style in the first episode is clearly not coming back, and the comedy’s been tapering off while the attempts at schadenfreude tick up, but all they’re really doing is having everybody be unpleasant to everybody else around them without actual jokes being told. Well, and trying to ramp up the fanservice too, but you can go anywhere for vaguely risque outfits and whimpering anime girls.
