Loser Ranger #17 — On Endless Repeat

Ow, my budget.

I’m out of town from essentially now until late Wednesday. Just a short vacation and I don’t anticipate any major issues or delays, but who knows. I do still plan on at least one more episode of Demon Anthology/Apoc Hotel on Monday/Tuesday, but they may be delayed or just pushed off to Thursday if my internet situation is untenable for blogging.

Impressions:

At least this awful arc is over. The complete collapse of the budget recently especially did a number on this episode from start to finish. At the start, because it made the whole observe the things that change between loops make no sense when you’re looking at literally only two people instead of an entire crowd, later for Green one-shotting the big bad with a still, and for D’s fight against Not-Rambo, which was also reduced to a still. Even that was on top of it being “one neat trick” to defeat anybody, which considering this guy is supposed to be some kind of special ops elite was just painfully stupid.

As was his entire schtick in the end. I’m only doing this to protect the kids. Except for the ones my boss eats. That’s completely fine. I’m not against controlled murder of children by otherworldly horrors, just society abusing them. Ya sure, my guy? That’s really the moral compass we’re pinning to our chests here? Also, shouldn’t people have pointed out at some point that the dude’s brother is still missing and presumably eaten? That feels like it probably should’ve been brought up. Where even did that other cop guy vanish to for like minutes while the world presumably kept resetting around him? Everything about this arc was just sloppy, but at least it’s over. It doesn’t give a lot of hope for the next one, but I’m pretty sure we’re instead going into at least an episode or two of essentially filler while D works out this newfound Not All Humans thing and Red continues menacing kindergarteners.
