The official MCM Comic Con social media account has today revealed, in partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment, that Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- will be screening at MCM Comic Con in London on the Main Stage at 2:35pm on Saturday 24th May 2025.
As a reminder Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the latest anime entry into the long running Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, and is a collaboration project between studio khara and SUNRISE, with the series currently simulcast streaming on Amazon Prime in both dubbed and subbed formats. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- meanwhile brings together the first three episodes of the series and presents it as a feature-length-film. The film itself was also originally screened in cinemas across the UK before simulcast streaming began, and acts as a great introduction to the series.
Synopsis: Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space. When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle Under the entry name “Machu,” she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji. Now their world is about to enter a new era.
Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- is directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for his work with Anno on the EVANGELION series, with Yoji Enokido, who works include Revolutionary Girl Utena and Bungo Stray Dogs, as screenwriter. Hideaki Anno is also involved with the project for the film (and series) screenplay.
At at time of writing it’s not known if the film will be screened in dubbed or subbed format, but attendees of MCM Comic Con will be able to experience the film themselves on the Main Stage at 2:35pm on Saturday 24th May 2025.
