Screw the city. That car is in danger.
Impressions:
At least we got nearly ten minutes of over the top super hero fighting. That’s better than not. But for how little time is being given to the characters and the writing in general this arc, you’d expect it to not be quite this… awful. The bare minimum I would’ve hoped from Queen is seeing a little bit of growth and humility. Particularly if she had apologized to the rival lady and owned up to being a horse’s ass to her. Instead, she tells Cyan that she discovered her true self thanks to listening to some pop music. Uh, what? What does that even mean? What was the epiphany that you had here? Also, I’m pretty sure we watched you heroically save a Corolla and then ignore hundreds of missiles impacting half of downtown.
But also, everything about the rival lady’s blood vendetta made zero sense. What was Queen’s plan here? Use voodoo magic to make her lose, and then also lose in disgrace? And she’s possessed by dark blood revenge rage, which is why we timeskip to a couple years later so she can enact her grand plan of randomly jumping her in a shipping dock. The rage couldn’t have been THAT frothing if she was willing to sit and wait that long. Nor did they ever address that Queen was indeed born with a silver spoon and has had every opporuntity handed to her on a platter. She brought up a lot of good points that Queen should at least grapple with in some way, particularly after her failure, even ignoring Queen’s arrogance and abusive treatment towards her, but instead… Cyan’s song made her feel better, so now, a giant dog.
