Here I Come Nintendo World

Until last year I hadn’t picked up a Pokemon game in too long!!

You read right until early last year I haven’t played a Pokemon game in long, we’re talking since Emerald. The launch of the Nintendo Switch completely changed how we play games, to me was a massive game changer. I’ve had my Nintendo Switch for over a year and a half and one of the best presents I have received. I never feel time is wasted playing this child hood reminder of fun. Though never have I considered myself a heavy gamer, certainly turn into one if I get obsessed with something and Pokemon is one of those raritys. Receiving my Nintendo came with my first game Let’s Go Eevee!, a less big version of the original Pokemon games to me it was. A mini adventure. It took me over a month to complete but what a incredible perfect game for myself to begin with as the world of Pokemon games has changed from how I remember.

Beginning The Ride

It was nice to begin the game with familiarity for starter Pokemon and I knew my first goal would be to evolve Eevee into a Jolteon (my favourite Pokemon since forever). The first week I remember exploring the newest features to Pokemon games I was foreign too like you’re pokemon following you around out of the pokeball (such a cute feature)

Entering into battle mode was slow for me at first from playing past tense you got into the swing of things quickly. But when choosing the attack you want you’re pokemon to perform, there is a delay in attack time. That I wasn’t a big fan of at first but overtime I got use to that, the attacks don’t happen instantaneously. I think the clean graphics swept me away to forget about this issue while playing but the older games makes me appericate the feature of things would happen quickly haha.

The battle music was hard to get use too but slowly grew on me but can’t say is my favourite feature about the game. Overtime I’ve realized I am lover of retro things through and through, nothing beats the high pumping battle music from Sapphire, Ruby games etc, it’s just special.

I liked it didn’t take forever to gain all badges in total if I can remember 8 or 9, could be wrong? But at first from gaining my first badge the gym leader badge didn’t seem hard but second badge round, the game proved the difficulty level was there. I’m sorry I assumed this side pokemon game I called would be easy hahaha.

finally got a ninetails!

We Were Immersed Quickly

A desire from over the years I didn’t think would get to experience was just having favourite pokemon in my team. I loved the game had a lot of originals from 150 first pokemon and new pokemon I was not familiar with. Evolving Starmyu and Vulpix was a bit of a big deal adding to my attachment to the game, speaking of in the end I never involved my Eevee Sylvia, I got too attached to her but next time I’ll involve probably haha. Immensely enjoyed the mix of Pokemon in the game and wishing I had played the game sooner hahaha.

Raging at the screen is a obvious symptom how much you are invested in the game after adjusting to everything half way through the game we were at this stage.

I liked the different TM that were available everywhere and you could collect those regularly around the place, some were past familiar from older games was nice to see and the new TM were cool. Headbutt, scratch, etc are ones I don’t find use it but that’s okay.

I liked the feature of Pokemon in your team gaining HP through different ways as I remember just through battle, through this game your team gains more perks and raises their HP pretty quickly.

The people who you end up battling as your making you’re way through haha they were. . . boring to me. They bored in previous games. Their purpose is to raise your pokemon levels but half the time I skipped them a lot.

Just Good Fun

Gaining Moltres on my team was something to get use too but having legendarys on your team wasn’t a thing from what I remember but I made full use of them in the my final boss battle. Speaking of that was a bitch to complete after the five attempt finally we were victorious and felt I had achieved something in gaming. It was achievement to me to complete a game because it had been YEARS.

I put off writing about this game because I don’t know how to write about games, I don’t how professionals come up with the words so complex in my eyes. But Let’s Go Eevee was such a fun fun game, got me back into wanting to play games again. Highly recommend it if you don’t know what game to buy next or you haven’t played a game in a long time. All the functions are simple once you get use to them. I have taken the next leap and currently making my way through Pokemon Violet, this will take some getting use too but so far I am enjoying it.

Have you played Let’s Go Eevee? How did you feel about it?

See you in the next post!
