A new listing in the “new & popular” section of the Netflix application has revealed that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, a series that recently began simulcast streaming on Crunchyroll, will become available to stream on Netflix UK from 10th August 2024.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is the TV Anime adaptation by Toho & P.A. Works of the Edelweiss developed video game of the same name. The game itself was published into UK (and Europe) by Marvelous Europe in 2020 and is a mixture of side-scrolling action-RPG combat with life styled rice cultivation. The Anime series originally began simulcast streaming on 6th July 2024, with 5 episodes currently available.
Synopsis: Two realms exist in the ancient land of Yanato: the Lofty Realm, where gods reside, and the Lowly Realm, where humans reside. Princess Sakuna was the daughter of the god of war and goddess of harvest, but she led a lazy life. One day, she is banished to Hinoe Island, the Isle of Demons. Stranded in a barren land, Sakuna sets out to slay demons and farm rice. Her new adventure begins!
Considering that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is still a new series we expect that Netflix will simulcast stream it alongside Crunchyroll like they have been doing with ONE PIECE. It’s unclear if all current episodes will be added to Netflix at once on Saturday, or if they will be steadily dropped on a weekly basis. Regardless, if you have a Netflix UK subscription you’ll be able to begin watching Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin on 10th August 2024. In the meantime Crunchyroll subscribers can watch Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin right now, with new episodes added weekly.
