You’re boring.
Impressions:
AKA “The Furious Princess Wants Revenge – I’ll Destroy My Homeland with the Power of My Grimoires.” Brevity, thy enemy is Mondays. I had some scant hopes for this one based on the promos containing an unusual amount of bloodletting, but this episode was bound and determined to paint that as a lie. It starts with the standard boring ass cliche of being dumped at a ball despite literally everybody knowing she’s falsely accused and is the best at everything, spends the next ten minutes setting up that cliche scene, as if it needed to be set up at all, and the ten minutes after that in meetings discussing how she’s totally going to be doing something about it. Eventually. In like five days. After much planning. And more meetings. But first, another meeting. For planning. Wow. This is too exciting for my blood. I better lie down and suck on a saltine.
Another tired villainess thing then, revenge flavor, with all the promises of revenge to come Eventually™. Maybe next week. Maybe in a month. Maybe never for all we know and those people getting carved up in the promos were just imagined. Which means you don’t even get the catharsis of someone getting punched in the face to hook you. In the meantime, enjoy your tired cliche and lack of animation. Can’t say it’s the worst animated thing this season, or even today, because that awful SS Prince show exists, setting a new low in standards, but it ain’t far enough off.
Boy, Mondays are… rough despite the like eight shows.
