Those looking forward to the 4K UHD Blu-Ray (or Blu-Ray) release of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom in the UK will have to wait a little bit longer, as updated listings at AllTheAnime have now confirmed that the films release has been pushed back in to August 2026.
Sadly I can’t give a confirmed release date as retailer listings on Amazon UK, Anime-On-Line and HMV, which changed over a week ago, suggest that both versions of the film are being released on the 10th August 2026. The AllTheAnime store meanwhile lists the Collector’s Edition 4K UHD Blu-Ray being released on the 17th August 2026 and the Standard Blu-Ray being released on the 24th August 2026. One would assume the release date on the AllTheAnime store is the correct date, but they have occassionally had incorrect dates listed themselves. As such, we can say that the film is expected to be released in August.

Synopsis: In C.E.75, the fighting still continues. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM takes place two years after the events of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, which is a sequel series to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED; so watching both series before seeing the film is advised in order to fully enjoy the story. That aside Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM debut in Japanese cinemas on 26th January 2024 and achieved $7.2m in three days, and then three months later (on 23rd March 2024) it received a limited theatrical run across the UK.
As it stands Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM is scheduled to release in August 2026, with some retailers suggesting it will be released on the 10th August 2026 (Amazon UK, Anime-On-Line and HMV) while others suggesting it will be released from the 17th August 2026 (AllTheAnime Store).
