Yep. Called it.
Impressions:
They certainly let the cat out of the bag immediately by having dudes kick in the door and announce the most contrived nonsense while Anemone herself all but declares that this must be a dream. To be followed shortly after by Gore explaining that the only way out of it is to want to wake up and she’s just gonna be sitting there too. Exciting times. Which makes it all the more baffling that it’s going to be a bloody three episode arc. And because the pacing has been slapped on a torture device and stretched past its breaking point, everything else is going to suffer as well, but especially the humor, of which there isn’t even the slightest trace.
Even Gore herself’s own little flashback backstory doesn’t add anything. She saved a friend from being sold into slavery using her brainwashing powers, so the kid called her a monster and went running right back to her slaver parents. Please be slightly more sensical, either from her using her power more recklessly or for more trivial things so being mad about it would actually make sense, or make her actually at least somewhat guilty of what she’s being abused of. Also, if she can and does freely manipulate people like that, then how is she a destitute starving waif on the streets? The tiniest modicum of effort into the writing, please.
