High school boys and girls fall in love.
I really enjoy this as a romance because, while it is a great romance, it’s just as much about the friendships the characters have with each other. In some ways the main romance is probably one of the least interesting relationships in the show. And I don’t mean this as a bad thing at all.
Too bad the anime didn’t get to Subaru’s romance, which is coming next and is honestly way better than the part that’s been adapted so far.
Storytelling – B – Engaging and fluid. Does suffer a bit from needing everyone to explicitly say what they’re thinking.
Voice – B – Finds its unique voice in a very crowded genre.
