Retro Anime Styled Co-Op Adventure “Orbitals” Announced as a Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive for Release in 2026

Publisher Kepler Interactive, in partnership with tokyo-based game development studio Shapefarm, have recently announced the 2-player co-op adventure Orbitals for the Nintendo Switch 2, and it draws heavy inspiration from retro anime.

As it stands not much details have been revealed about the game, but in it players will control Maki and Omura as they work together to save their home from a disastrous fate. Judging from the announcement trailer Orbitals will heavily rely on co-op gameplay, like Split Fiction and It Takes Two, and feature the gameplay styles of third-person adventure and shoot-em-ups encased with the art style of an 80’s/90’s anime series. If you like Outlaw Star, Cobra, Macross then you’ll enjoy what the visuals this game has to offer.

About: Team up as explorers Maki and Omura to brave the perils of space and save their home from the dangers of a supernatural cosmic storm. As you navigate uncharted areas, close collaboration is vital – remember, you can only save your home by working together!

We’ll get to know more about this game in the near future on the official microsite, but for the time being it is planned as an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
