New retail listings at Amazon UK have today revealed that Anime Limited are planning to release Standard Edition Blu-Ray sets for Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 – Season 1 and Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 – Season 2 in the UK; with both scheduled for a 16th March 2026 release.
Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 was previously released in the UK by Anime Limited as two Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray sets, with each set containing that series on Blu-Ray in Japanese (with English subtitles) and coming with Art Cards, Art Book and Poster. Of course these newly revealed Standard Editions will feature the same disc content as the Collector’s Edition, but simply packaged in a standard amary case without any physical extras or the rigid art box.

Synopsis: The year is 2045. In this near future, the decline has not yet become bad enough that people can sense in their daily lives the risk to human survival posed by A.I. To combat cybercrimes by the Posthumans, a new breed of human being that has suddenly arisen, Public Security Section 9, led by the fully prosthetic cyborg Motoko Kusanagi, makes its way to Tokyo, which was reduced to ruins in a previous war. What they find there are a refugee group that calls itself “N” and a hostile American Special Forces unit. As the risk of nuclear war set off by a hijacked submarine grows ever greater, the three-way battle between Public Security Section 9, America, and the Posthumans intensifies.

We can expect Anime Limited to make an official announcement about the release of these Standard Edition sets as part of a Newswire Blog Post in the near future, and it is expected that other retailers will also list the products soon. In the meantime they can be pre-ordered from Amazon UK and are expected to be released on the 16th March 2026 in the UK. It’s also worth noting that the seris can be streamed on Netflix in the UK, and also features an English Dub with the original Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex voice cast.
