Lots of fighting happens. I forgot why.
I was pretty disappointed by this. The first few episodes were great. Tons of weird shit going on, mysteries layered on mysteries, weird taoist nonsense… what’s not to love?
But then it turned out to just be interested in fight after fight after fight. It added more and more characters until I forgot who most of the people were, and the ones I did remember didn’t have much happen to them. I think maybe we slowly unraveled some of the mysteries, but with all the distractions I forgot why I was interested in them in the first place. Too bad.
Storytelling – D – Less is more.
Voice – B – Cool setting and ideas. Especially liked the main characters brainwashing.
Characters – C – They were great, but it got too complicated.
Attention Grab – D – Eager at first but lost interest by the end.
Production – B – Looks good.
