It may be the 1st of April, but this isn’t an April Fools joke, as 71 Episodes of Naruto Shippuden are now available to stream in English Dubbed format on the BBC iPlayer service in the UK, with more episodes (and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) expected in the near future.
Last month we reported that the Naruto Episode Guide on the BBC website listed episodes from Boruto: Naruto Next Generations as being added to the platform on 1st April 2026 in the “Naruto” program section. It seems that information wasn’t entirely accurate, as those episodes have yet to appear on the BBC iPlayer service, but instead the first batch of episodes from Naruto Shippuden have been added instead. The Naruto Episode Guide on the BBC website has also been updated listing every episode of Naruto Shippuden as being added to the platform on 1st April 2026.
As such it seems the BBC will be adding episodes of Naruto Shippuden, and then later Boruto: Nartuo Next Generations, to its platform in batches – just like they did with ONE PIECE and Pokemon Horizons. It’s unclear exactly when the next batch of episodes, potentially once a month, but for now 71 Episodes from Naruto Shippuden are currently available to stream in English dubbed format with the episodes seemingly presented in a PAL encoded High Definition format.
Until now Naruto Shippuden only been available to stream in its entirety subbed on Crunchyroll or on DVD sets through Manga Entertainment. Naruto Shippuden is currently being released on Blu-Ray in the UK, with Volume 3 expected to release this month, which coincidentally is a similar episode count to what is currently available on BBC iPlayer.
Naruto Shippuden: Now in his teens, Naruto Uzumaki returns to his village after years of training. Alongside his fellow ninjas, Naruto faces a new threat in the mysterious Akatsuki organization. He’ll train harder than ever and push his will to his limits.
As it stands BBC iPlayer currently have every episode of Naruto dubbed, 1022 episodes of ONE PIECE and the entire series of Digimon Ghost Game in English dub format. Dragon Ball super, albeit in its edited TV broadcast format, along with multiple seasons of Pokemon are also available to stream.
