Let’s just wander off and leave her in a shack.
Impressions:
Somehow I doubt that this is going to have any kind of satsifying ending. Even if just to announce part 2. Which, I don’t know, maybe it already has been announced. It’s continuing to meander and be incomprehensible, which I can often find endearing, or at least interesting, such as Ghost Concert, but this is combining horrific pacing with static characters. Touya in particular, who has once again spent the entire episode sitting on the sideline, lamenting how he’s tried nothing at all and is ready to give up. This would continue until the halfway point, where it declares that it’s time for his training arc and he vanishes from the episode. I’m sorry, a training arc? Eleven episodes in? This dude hasn’t done a single thing since episode 2. Arguably episode 1.
The second half of the episode wasn’t quite as bad, being another montage of absolutely random jobbers in the middle of some random quarry having a random fight just to say that they did one. I legitimately couldn’t tell you which were supposed to be the good guys or the bad guys. Hell, a couple minutes in and I wasn’t convinced it wasn’t sparring practice. Thankfully, one whipped out a gun and started shooting the others in the head. His own teammates, mind you, which was the kickoff to yet another round of backstabbing, from the baddie branch this time. Which would somehow take another five minutes… and announcement that they won’t actually fully betray them unless they Prove Their Worth™ first. …Cool. Exactly where things ought to be an episode or two from the end of a season.
