Girl, at some point, it’s past reasonable panic and on you.
Whew. The marathon days are over. Only a handful of premieres left, and I can cull stuff down to a mere three or fewer shows a day. And yet, still multiple shows about reincarnating Mary Sue villainess to go. Aaanywho.
Impressions:
This girl is a complete imbecile, which makes the OP that plays at the end of the episode promising that she becomes some kind of warrior princess all the more ridiculous. That’s a show I probably wouldn’t mind watching, but that sure as hell wasn’t the character shown here. Not even an inkling of it. The entire sequence of her getting kidnapped to ancient times was painful. She just ran in a panic everywhere, constantly screaming in her head that she has no idea what’s going on and that she wants someone to help her. So the obligatory pretty boy shows up, rescues her, asks her what’s up with her, and offers to help. She sits there, staring blankly at him, repeats it all in her head, and then responds by… internally screaming that she has no idea what’s going on, needs someone to rescue her, and runs away. Then screams again that she… wait for it… has no idea what’s going on and needs someone to rescue her. At some point, you have to take some responsibility for making your situation worse, especially the direction giving you four paragraphs and multiple minutes worth of internal narration to mull it over.
All she did the entire episode was internally scream in a panic a recap of what was happening. She was both incapable of even trying to do anything, and spent paragraphs upon paragraps self-narrating. While at the same time, the prince says that he took her virginity and so she can’t be a human sacrifice, she freaks out and objects to her reputation being sullied. She’s oblivious to the point where it’s borderline suicidal. I also have to question how many virgins this supposedly noble prince dude happily watched be sacrificed because they didn’t tickle his fancy.
