NIS America have recently confirmed that the farming simulator Honogurashi no Niwa, known as Village In The Shade in the west, will launch on 27th October 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC (via Steam). A Standard and Limited Edition will also be released physically on all consoles platforms.
Developed by Nippon Ichi Software, Inc., the team responsible for Disgaea and Phantom Brave franchises, Village In The Shade puts players in the mountain village of Kagatsu where they must take care of the farm and follow the rules. Those who liked the visual style of Yomawari, and the gameplay of STORY OF SEASONS, will no doubt be interested in what this title has to offer.
About: Welcome to Kagatsu, a Japanese mountain village with plenty of secrets. In this brand-new, hand-painted farming sim, you’ll plant crops, customize your homestead, and befriend a cast of intriguing characters.
Relax by the brook, watch the cherry blossoms with your neighbors, or take a stroll through town. With so many ways to relax, you’re sure to feel right at home.
