Of The Colors That Remind Me

Remember I did a post a long while back “Of The Seasons Remind Me” well I have another one lineup similar that came to me recently.

If you’re having a blue or crap day let my rainbow post do something for you or at least distract you. Honestly this all came to mind while we have had some rain here recently and I was driving home from work alas what greets me. . . a rainbow. It was beautiful the half the sky blue and other grey from the passing rain, that’s when this post idea sparked anime and colours. So this will be fun and to talk about some anime I haven’t even mentioned on here yet. In accordance with the colours of the rainbow will start on the fiery red.

Blazing Hell Red

Devil May Cry I watched the adaptation early 2000s and to say the least wasn’t memorable. I didn’t grow up with the games but I enjoyed the story line then Netflix and comes drops a new adaptation. My first interest was because Evanescence did one of the main theme songs “Afterlife” for this anime which had me buzzing. I watched this with my partner as he is new to anime and we loved the thrill ride this brings and to say now it’s not over haha. I couldn’t help but think of Dante’s red coat how it represents to me all the rage of one mission for himself to avenge his mother and brother killed by demons. Following the path of being a demon hunter feels right to only think of such a path covered in blood and unsettled rage. Dante is far from the character you imagine and prefers to treat everything in a laid back approach, making the series not seeped in despair but his character bring a stretch of humor that balances the gruesome parts. But if you’re all good with gruesome and gore then you’ll be fine here. I really enjoyed this ride and a great distraction if you are looking for one.

Auburn Orange

Kids On The Slope I watched for the first time last year and the colour palette of the show makes me think about the colour orange. A lot of warm hue of yellow and orange spread everywhere especially in the sunset scenes the character are walking down the hill. Orange is a warming colour and that’s how this show made me feel warm. Following three high school students who come together for their own individual love of jazz and music in general. High school you see as such a innocent time when you reach your mid years and the worries the characters have seem minor but they aren’t. Lots of little things are a big deal at the age of 15 to 16, you’re in a starting out phase of what kind of person you want to be. This trio of characters are only at the beginning and they make a mess of it all but how it paved out during the series is emotive and showing the beauty of adolescent. It’s going to be hard for someone to say they aren’t going to end up feeling something here because of this show, it’s gorgeous.

Sunshine Yellow

Sing A Bit Of Harmony I watched mid last year and hadn’t seen a move for a while. How does this make me think of yellow the main visual image came to mind and I’m trying to discuss series I haven’t given any thoughts on yet here. We live in a big tech age now and AI is becoming apart of our everyday, soon as I saw AI overview appear on google this year it made me realise the impact it is having on the world. The hate for AI technology is justified but maybe this cute film might uplift your feelings towards it if just for the fun of it. Shion a AI robot in the testing period attends a local high school and cats out of the bag when Satomi young boy discovers her secret. Although Shion singing voice becomes the start of her bond with Satomi and his other friends, there is undiscovered fun everyone realises and hidden feelings that come to the surface. My favourite thing about this film was the animation all the backgrounds were gorgeous and bright. I do have a thing for bright colorful animation it added to the fun, uplifting atmosphere through the film. I enjoyed the fun AI take this film had to offer and made me cry towards the end when things turned drama heavy all of a sudden. You should give this one go if you’re keen enough.

Gleaming Green

Arrietty god I haven’t seen in such a long time (rewatch is much needed) but the impression it has left after all these years, how can I forget the vibrancy of this film. Not just because it’s Studio Ghibli is why I love this film, the countryside lush and quiet sets the tone for a whimsical feature you can’t get out of your head, envisioning yourself amongst the country greenery and peace. Unknown to the world above, little people living among in the walls and out Arrietty has the biggest adventure of her life meeting twelve year old by chance and discovering the bigger of things. This film reminded me of a film I love called The Indian in the cupboard if you have ever heard of it a boy has a magical cupboard that makes his figurines come alive when he places them inside and builds a friendship with a native indian. It was by Warner Brothers those golden early 2000 movies are the best and this anime film possesses the same traits heart yearning, warming and genuine about friendship. Arrietty is a watch you can’t be disappointed with honestly.

Deepest Blue

SSS.Gridman is still one of the weirdest series with a confusing start and nothing makes much sense until halfway through. You have to give it a chance but once you do you are hooked to the message and cause it brings. Yuta awakes with amnesia and meets Gridman on his classmates computers screen, next moment Gridman is expanding from the screen as a real robot ready to fight Kaiju. I honestly never thought this series would be my thing but since I love mecha I had to like it. I like the plot template of these characters not knowing themselves what the fudge is going on and they are fighting monsters with a robot ally as Gridman. Studio Trigger are known for their unique titles and this anime is a good place to start. Despite it all this series is so fun I found it to be, The animated skies of blue are what made me think for this choice honestly, great animation right here, if you’re looking for something a bit out there try here!

Pamper Indigo

Princess Jellyfish had been on my back burner watch list for the last decade but this year finally got around to it and I see what the fuss is about. Instantly Koibuchi jellyfish dress came to mind for representing Indigo. The adaptation from the manga is pretty strong, the dub is really good honestly, highly recommend watching in dub for this one. This series is for every introvert and anyone who likes to be a home bum following introvert tenants in a rental historic building but following one in particular. Tsukimi who likes to be unnoticed and no lime light shone on but she catches the attention of flamboyant personality Koibuchi who likes to dress to impress in female attire. From episode one this anime rides on a constant funny high and the comedy is top tier. The main scope you take away from this series among all the misfits characters and hilarious happening is we have to flaunt the best of what we have to offer. If you’re looking for a good way to start off a weekend this is your Friday night right here! That’s how I watched this and by Sunday I wasn’t gloomy for Monday haha.

Magical Violet

Fancy Lala might be a title you are not familiar with which is great because it wasn’t for me when I finally watched last year. 90s anime has my heart always and this adorable title evoked the hue glow of the colour violet, magical girl show that you need to give the time for. Miyo of Ten years old meets some interesting creatures and bestowed a magical pen to turn herself into upcoming pop singing idol “Fancy Lala” there is much fun this young adolescent gets up too. Mogu and Pigu the. .  flying mini dragons will call (what they look like to me) are the cutest and keeping Miyo out of trouble is no easy feat at any point. This is a fun magical girl but what I loved most was the pastel backgrounds, remind of those gorgeous Sailor Moon Tokyo cityscapes in pastel. Ugh so good. If you like the movie with Jennifer Garner 13 turning 30 then you’re definitley going to like this.

Hope you discovered something new to give a try and I truly enjoyed writing this one, it’s been forever since doing a post like this. I better not leave it for too long now. Finally highlighted some shows I have never discussed on this blog. There achieved two things haha.

See you next post!
