Square Enix have today released a playable demo for FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH on to the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. This newly released demo allows players to progress through the opening portion of the game and save data can be transferred to the full version once its released on the 3rd June 2026.
FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH was originally released on the PlayStation 5 in February 2024, before being ported to Windows PC in 2025, and on the 3rd June 2026 the game will come to Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. It is the second game in the FINAL FANTASY VII remake trilogy, and offers an entirely new experience compared to the original game it based on. The newly released demo (on Nintendo Switch 2 at least) is 42.5GB, so you’ll need to have a decent amount of space available in order to be able to download it.

As a reminder those that have save data from FINAL FANTASY REMAKE INTERGRADE will also receive bonus items in game. Summoning Materia: Leviathan will be granted if save data from the main story is found while Summoning Materia: Ramuh will be granted if save data from INTERmission is found. Finally, digital editions are available to pre-order with a 20% discount being offered on both standard and digital deluxe editions of the game.
