In some rather interesting news, couresty of a news tip from Tyrell; the free-to-air UK TV channel GREAT! Action will start broadcasting English Dubbed episodes of Dragon Ball Super this week with two episodes being shown daily from 5th May 2026.
Episodes broadcast on the TV channel will then become available to watch on demand through the GREAT! Player app, with the first episode currently available to stream right now. While this is exciting news this broadcast of the series does come with some caveats.
Firstly this UK TV broadcast of Dragon Ball Super does not have a dedicated time slot, and so episodes are being shown anytime between 11pm and 2am each day on the GREAT! Action channel. More importantly the episodes planned for broadcast on GREAT! Action seem to be the edited version, and the same one that POP! broadcast seven years ago, rather than the uncut version that is available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
It’s not surprising, as GREAT! Action is part of the Narrative Group who own the POP! channels, so it makes sense they would use the same materials on a different channel. Given the late-night showings it would have been nice if the uncut versions were obtained and used instead. Of course, until the broadcast starts (tomorrow) this is just speculation based on the episode that they currently have available streaming on GREAT! Player. An example of the difference between the original POP! (edited) broadcast and the UK Blu-Ray can be found below.
For those unfamilair GREAT! Action is part of the GREAT! line-up of TV channels that can be watched on Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media, Freely and other free-to-air TV platforms in the UK and are widely accessible. Dragon Ball Super will begin its UK TV broadcast on GREAT! Action from 11pm on 5th May 2026 with two episodes being shown each day. As mentioned there isn’t a dedicated time slot, so I would advice checking a digital TV guide each day to see when the next episode is being broadcast.
Dragon Ball Super is also available on Blu-Ray and DVD, in its uncut format, in the UK with a complete series collection also available from Crunchyroll. The series can also be streamed on Crunchyroll in the UK. Dragon Ball Super, in its slightly different edited form, can also be streamed on BBC iPlayer in the UK and the POP UP! and POP! streaming channels on UK TVs also shows Dragon Ball Super occasionally.
