A lot of children accidentally kill themselves in this setting, don’t they?
Impressions:
So, she basically runs away from her home, the circus, only to end up in a ramshackle circus in the middle of the wilderness, run by and staffed by about eight fourteen year olds. And only she can whip them into shape, despite hating circuses because her family repeatedly traumatized and abused her. Everyone has to teach her that circuses are actually great and awesome despite her appropriately not wanting anything to do with them.
I guess it’s impressive that they either built an entire trapeze system, or maybe stole it from someone, but this entire thing seems incredibly irresponsible for whatever adults are involved. But setting that aside, it’s… a club show. Light, as usual, on actual knowledge of the club activities, as esoteric as trapeze and juggling are for such things, and all just sparklies when doing them, or silly faces when a joke needs to be made. At least there’s only some yelling, for humor and drama. There are some artistic flairs here and there, but they’re rare. For example, in the ending scene where she’s greeted with how she’ll also be poor, her eyes slowly bulge out of her head until they pop out and roll away. It’s… a humorous visual gag, but the most anybody does at any point before this is make a stupid face, so suddenly jumping to straight up Looney Tunes reactions is pretty out of place.
