Wait, so you’re still together?
Impressions:
Another messy and hard to follow episode that feels like it would’ve been better if they had dumped all the nonsensical babbling over the political situation and just put together a 15 minute chase scene. The whole bit about them being out to assassinate Kusanagi, but also having no idea they were there to assassinate Kusanagi is also just plain bizarre. On top of the dude deploying for an apparently planned raid literally minutes after leaving the hospital, on his girlfriend. And he too is surprised by this turn of events? It beggars belief.
It also doesn’t help that almost every single reveal about what’s going on was immediately followed by a second reveal that the first wasn’t actually true or relevant. We’re being ambushed by incompetent terrorists. Wait, no. They have training. There’s homeless people everywhere, we can’t fight here. Wait no, they all vanished. Hold on. The ‘terrorists’ are actually other special ops. Wait, no. Not the main boss mech, that’s an actual terrorist. He secretly sabotaged our bazooka. Wait, no. We have a second heretofore unseen dude with a second bazooka. This was all a catfish ploy by that dude for intel. Wait, no. The intel we wanted was on someone we already assassinated. Give things a moment to breathe at the very least.
