An all-new creative partnership will bring anime to the world of F1, that’s what is being described as part of this new partnership between Atlassian Williams F1 Team, Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) and UNDONE, which will see DAN DA DAN capsule collection being produced.
It is explained in the press announcement that a unique capsule collection will be produced and released later this year, of which will unite the speed and power of the legendary F1 team Williams with the supernatural chaos of DAN DA DAN, one of the world’s most-watched anime series. This partnership will further extend the growing range of Williams x UNDONE products, a collaboration which first began in July 2025 and saw two products (the FW47 and the Carbono) being produced and sold online.
It’s currently unclear what type of capsule products this partnership will produce, but if you are both an F1 and DAN DA DAN fan (myself included), then it is certainly worth keeping an eye out for. In the meantime here is what Hiroshi Kamei, the producer of DAN DA DAN, had to say about this partnership.
“We are truly delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with the historic Atlassian Williams F1 Team. First-time initiatives are always exciting, and we have great expectations for the new possibilities this collaboration will bring. Through this project, we hope to share the unique appeal and world of the TV anime DAN DA DAN with William’s fans, offering a new, and engaging way to experience the series. We sincerely hope you look forward to it.”
For those confused by this sudden announcement it’s because the Japanese Grand Prix takes place this weekend (27th – 29th March 2026) at the Suzuka Circuit and Thursdays are generally news build-up days. For instance, another Formula 1 Team (HAAS) announced that they will have a Godzilla livery design for the F1 car this weekend.
Regardless, it will be interesting to see what this partnership produces and it just shows that anime is becoming more mainstream. DAN DA DAN meanwhile is available to stream on both Netflix and Crunchyroll.
