UK Cinema Tickets for Mamoru Oshii’s “Angel’s Egg” are Now On Sale at Participating Cinemas across the UK

Anime Limited, otherwise known as All The Anime, have today confirmed that cinema tickets for Mamoru Oshii’s Angel’s Egg are now available to book online through participating cinemas across the UK. The film is scheduled to be released on the 17th June 2026.

This version of the film, which released in Japan more than 40 years ago, will use an all-new 4K restoration of the film, of which was supervised by director Mamoru Oshii. An official website has also been updated to help viewers find their nearest cinema that are showing the film.

Angel’s Egg: In an underwater city, a young girl takes care of a large egg she holds carefully in her arms. A boy with a gun arrives in search of a bird he saw in his dream. At first, it seems as if feelings of sympathy are developing between the two.

Angel’s Egg is a creative collaboration between acclaimed director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell), who wrote and directed the feature, and revered artist Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D). The film beautifully intertwines Oshii’s thematic reflections on philosophy and theolog with Amano’s distinctive ink painting style, culminating in an arrestingly beautiful hand-drawn allegorical fantasy.

Angel’s Egg has previously received limited cinema screenings across the UK as part of the Scotland Loves Anime film festival, but this will be the first time that it has received a wider cinematic release in the UK.

Angel’s Egg will screen in participating cinemas across the UK on the 17th June 2026 with further details and screening availability available to find on the official website.
