While football (or soccer) is a core gameplay element, and has reportedly been vastly improved from the original, the story will focus on players creating their own character and joining Tsubasa on his quest. Along the way you’ll forge new friendships, fight new rivals, and bring the trophy back home.

Story Mode: Players will follow Tsubasa Ozora and his team through the Asian Youth Championship before advancing to the highly contested World Youth Championship. Across this journey, players will face rival teams defined by physical power, tactical mastery and unbreakable ambition, with each match serving as a decisive clash of football philosophies.

Players will challenge powerful opponents in the qualifying round, including Thailand, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and China, where strength and technical precision will be put to the test. Each victory will be essential, as Japan will fight to secure its place among the world stage. As the competition escalates, the World Youth Championship will also bring legendary encounters against Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Cameroon, Sweden and the Netherlands.
