Bandai Namco Entertainment have recently released a new trailer for Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, of which is planned for a for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC later this year, with it showcasing the Story featured within the game.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is a sequel to the Captain Tsubasa: Rise of the New Champions game that launched onto Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC in 2020 and this latest installment will feature 22 national teams (including some that did not appear in the previous game), over 110 playable characters, and more than 150 unique animated special moves. While football (or soccer) is a core gameplay element, and has reportedly been vastly improved from the original, the story will focus on players creating their own character and joining Tsubasa on his quest. Along the way you’ll forge new friendships, fight new rivals, and bring the trophy back home.
Story Mode: Players will follow Tsubasa Ozora and his team through the Asian Youth Championship before advancing to the highly contested World Youth Championship. Across this journey, players will face rival teams defined by physical power, tactical mastery and unbreakable ambition, with each match serving as a decisive clash of football philosophies.
Players will challenge powerful opponents in the qualifying round, including Thailand, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and China, where strength and technical precision will be put to the test. Each victory will be essential, as Japan will fight to secure its place among the world stage. As the competition escalates, the World Youth Championship will also bring legendary encounters against Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Cameroon, Sweden and the Netherlands. Overwhelming pressure and unforgettable moments will define these battles, where skill alone is not enough and perseverance will become the deciding factor between glory and defeat.
