New Anime

OVERLORD, Mob Psycho 100 (Seasons 1, 2 & 3) & Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files (Seasons 3 & 4) Added to Netflix UK

Netflix’s anime offering continues to expand, as today the first season of OVERLORD, all three seasons of Mob Psycho 100, and another two seasons of Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files, have now been added to the streaming platform in both English & Japanese (with English subtitles) audio options.

OVERLORD and Mob Psycho 100 are entirely new additions to the Netflix UK service, while Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files sees its offering expanded with Season 3 & 4, thus making four seasons of the show available to stream.

OVERLORD (Season 1): When it is announced that the virtual reality game Yggdrasil will soon be taken offline, one person decides to stay and spend the very last moments of the game as their dark wizard avatar, Momonga (voice of Satoshi Hino). But when the time of deactivation passes and Momonga finds himself still active in the game world, with the non-player characters exhibiting personalities of their own, his true quest begins. Now he must travel this world looking for answers about what happened, and whether anyone else from the real world is still there, all the while using his magic guild to rule the world.

Mob Psycho 100 (Season 1, 2 & 3): Unbelievable psychic abilities. A dark and dangerous force. These are the things that make up Kageyama Shigeo, a.k.a. Mob. But despite his great power, Mob only wants one thing—to be cool! Like any other adolescent boy, Mob has a crush on a classmate, but unfortunately, he’s the most awkward kid in his entire school. Sure, he can do things like exorcise evil spirits, and yeah, he has a dark hidden power that unleashes when his suppressed emotions hit 100 percent. But none of that matters if he’s not cool, strong, or able to impress the girl he likes. With surprisingly wise advice from master psychic (ahem, master con artist) Reigen Arataka and the help of some quirky comrades, Mob will learn what it means to be a regular kid facing the trials of adolescence—oh, and go up against a host of supernatural troublemakers and an underground psychic organisation up to no good. All in a day’s work for a top-tier esper.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files (Season 1, 2, 3 & 4): The Dark Tournament has come down to a final grudge match and Yusuke’s full wrath is unleashed as a friend’s blood stains the arena floor. But there will be no time for rest or recovery as kidnapping follows victory and further intrigue threatens the boundary between worlds. A tunnel is being carved, one which completed will lay waste to the World of the Living. There are seven who seek an age of destruction and chaos, and hero must battle fallen hero.

During the past month Netflix UK has been steadily increasing its anime offerings, especially those originally licensed/released by Crunchyroll (FUNimation). Regardless, all of these shows are now available to stream on Netflix in the UK.
